John was a great person who was always thoughtful of others and hated to see anyone upset.  He is truly missed but will remain in our hearts always.

You were one of my "kids" and I couldn't have loved you more. My heart has a hole in it, our family will never be the same. But,I know you would want us to be happy and would be mad if we didn't try. I pray for ALL of us left behind to find some happiness in our lives and to find peace in knowing that you are with God and that someday we'll all be together again.

One day I decided to Yahoo my son's name and to my surprise I found this beautiful web site. I think of him every day, I miss his smile and his laughter. He was so blessed to be loved by so many. He touched each and every one of us in a very special way. He has tought us more then he will ever know. I know that he is in a better place and we will all meet again some day. He's our Johnny Bear.

John,
Today marks 3 years, it seems so much longer. Not a day goes by where I don't see something or hear something that makes me think of you. We adopted a polar bear at the Toledo Zoo in your honor and we just got a letter in the mail that 3 babies were born a couple of weeks ago. I know you would've been so excited about that. We will go in the spring to see them for you. I just wanted you to know how much we all still miss you and that we will always love you.

Hard to believe this year you are 28! Time keeps going by, but I still feel the empty space left in our family. I found a purple flower again, so my heart knows you are still with us. It's funny how thinking of you makes me laugh and cry. I’m so glad that we had you as part of our family. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything. You will be forever loved and remembered by both of your families. Until the day we see your beautiful smile again…we'll be missing and loving you always.

For "my" belated birthday gift to myself I had a memorial brick made for you.
There is a beautiful Angel in the center of all the bricks. With your sense of humor I know you would have given me crap about this- but it's something I felt I wanted and needed to do. Until I get to see your beautiful smile again and hear your wonderful laugh, I'll probably always be trying to think of ways to try to ease the pain of the void left behind in our family. Always loved, Never to be forgotten..
