James (Jim...Jimmy)was a very giving and loving person.  He was active in the Church of Christ in Perris, CA until the day of his transition.  



He was a longtime member of the Florence Lion's Club in Los Angeles California. As a member and past president of the Grand Exalted Ruler of the Grand Lodge of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order (I.B.P.O.)of Elks of the World, Major James Shows upheld and "cultivated the nobleness of soul and the goodness of heart, enlivining and exalting the spirit of patriotism, and inculcating the principles of Charity Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity"; Honorary Past State President of the Pacific States Association of the I.B.P.O. Elks of World.
